Tourism Minister launches Ministers conference

The Union Minister of State for Tourism & Culture Prahlad Singh Patel has inaugurated the State Tourism Ministers’ Conference held at New Delhi .

The Conference has been organized by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India. State’s Tourism Ministers, Secretaries of Tourism and senior officials from all the States and Union Territories (UTs) has attended, Sri C Parthasarathi, IAS, Principal Secretary (YAT & C Department) Govt. of Telangana and Sri B. Manohar, Managing Director, TSTDC attended from the Telangana state for the program and deliberate and discussed on various issues related to the development and promotion of Tourism.

The Conference has provide a platform for the Telangana Tourism, Government of Telangana to apprise about new initiatives has taken and to get valuable feedback and at the same time to learn about the initiatives being taken by the other States / UTs for the development of Tourism.

Ministry of Tourism envisages the development of a “One Stop Solution’ all-encompassing project including information about services catering to tourism in India and the inclusion of a mechanism for redressal of grievances.

This project will provide single site government assistance to both domestic and international tourists from across the globe.

The One Stop Solution proposes to cover the entire gamut of services pertinent to Tourism in India. This includes the existing information offered under the Incredible India platform, a wide range of information proposed about services such as Medical Service Providers, Insurance Providers, Weather Advisories, etc. along with the Grievance Redressal System being developed in collaboration with Twitter.

This web based application shall also act as a window for the tourists to access services related to local administration under the authority of the respective states, engagement of services from local administrative and civic authorities and other state specific tourism related services.

Ministry of Tourism proposes to use the Twitter platform for launching ‘Twitter Seva’ as a Grievance Redressal Management System.

Ministry of Tourism along with the Adventure Tour Operators Association (ATOAI) of India has formulated the Indian Adventure Tourism Guidelines on ‘Safety and Quality Norms for Adventure Tourism in India’.

The Guidelines list the basic minimum standards required for adventure tourism activities and have been sent to all the concerned stakeholders for adoption and implementation. Since, the State Governments/Union Territory Administrations are yet to adopt the Indian Adventure Tourism Guidelines hence, it is requested that the exercise in this regard

Ministry of Tourism has notified the Common National Standards and Guidelines for ‘Incredible India Bed and Breakfast/ Homestay Establishments’ to provide a clean and affordable place of stay to foreigners and domestic tourists.
