No, we are not talking on the security point of view. Tirumala is Ok and safe in terms of security. Of course, it has the threat perception like Hyderabad, but so far the security measures taken on Tirumala by the TTD are satisfactory. A review was recently done when Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the Lord’s abode.Devotees throng to Tirumala to have some peace of mind. But the latest reports in terms of pollution show that the toxic levels are higher than Hyderabad and Vijayawada. The reason being that the density of vehicles and the flow of public increased to the hill shrine. Solar power, Windmills are being bused on Tirumala to reduce the pollution on the world famous shrine.

But one cannot keep a break on the flow of vehicles and also the devotees coming to the shrine. It is reported that the humidity levels on the shrine have also gone up. It is cool on the 7 hills even when in summer. These days both the pollution and humidity levels have gone up.It is time that the new Chief Subbareddy takes stock of the alarming trends of pollution on the shrine. The board members must see to it that only electric buses are allowed on to the shrine so that the pollution is reduced.

It is better to stop all the vehicles of the pilgrims at Alipiri and see to it they take electric vehicles arranged by the TTD to reach the Lord of 7 hills. For TTD there is no dearth of funds and the lord can afford to shift to electric vehicles in one go.The RTC fleet can be added to the Tirupathi fleet. The entire transport of the Lord must be electric so that there will be no toxic emissions on the hill shrine and it would improve the environment.
