The second phase of Metro rail soon:KTR

The second phase of Metro rail works will be started soon said K Taraka Rama Rao the Minister for IT and Municipal administration. Today KTR along with Mahendar Reddy travelled the new Meto route from Ameerpet to LB Nagar. He said that the public Transport is the most important thing under the Urban infrastructure.

To add to the transport system in the city and to make it pollution free 500 new electric buses are being added he said. A new steel plant would come up in Bayyaram the Minister assured. A lot of employment would be generated he added.

The country is looking at Telangana for its fast pace of development he stated. The metro now had added 16 kilometres route. The metro rail is easing the Traffic congestion to some extent in some routes he opined. The route to Hitech city for the metro rail is getting ready by October the minister said.

All out efforts are being put to complete the first phase of the metro project the Minister explained. He did not agree with the argument that the metro rates are very high. He also used the escalators and was very happy with the arrangements.

More than 80000 passengers are using Metro rail he said. We are better than Chennai and Bangalore metros he said. Here the scenario is very encouraging and using 45-kilometre distance he said.

L B Nagar to Miyar the traffic density is very high he said. Enroute lot of development would be done and parking facilities will also be arranged he stated.

Some commercialisation would be done to the parking areas to suit the need around the Metro he explained. MGBS will be linked to Metro. Nampally Rail station will also be linked to Metro he announced. Setwin and Mahendra will be doing the last mile connectivity with HMR he said. 40 per cent of the travellers are using metro cards he said. There are no complaints he explained.
