Rains create havoc in Mumbai

 Heavy rains lashed Mumbai since last 5 days and more rains are expected according to the weather department. 13 people died when a wall collapsed due to heavy rains. Mumbai airport main runway has been closed. Some flights have been cancelled while some fights have been diverted. The traffic has been thrown out of gear and most the streets are clogged with rainwater. Traffic congestion and water clogging have been continuing for the last 4 days in all parts of Mumbai.

 

Some trains were also diverted as the tracks were filled with water. Chief Minister Fadnavis has been monitoring the situation, but the weather department has cautioned the Government that heavy rains were in store for the next 2 days.  Many companies have suggested the employees work from home today.Close to 200mm of rain was recorded and more than is expected. So it has been advised for the citizens to be careful and also to stay indoors.
