Pushkaralu in TS

The first Krishna Pushkaralu after the formation of the new state began in Telangana on Friday morning with people taking holy dips at several pushkar ghats constructed in the districts of Mahbubnagar and Nalgonda districts along river Krishna.

Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhara Rao, accompanied by his family members and a couple of his Cabinet Ministers, took a holy dip at the Pushkar ghat in Gondimalla of Mahbubnagar district around 5.58 a.m., formally marking beginning of Pushkaralu. As priests chanted Vedic hymns, Mr. Rao and others entered the river and performed the ‘puja’.

The CM was at the ghat for over 30 minutes and on completion of the prayers headed to Haritha guest house in Alampur and then to Jogulamba Temple. He was welcomed by the temple authorities.

The Chief Minister was accompanied by Endowments Minister A.Indrakaran Reddy, Health Minister Laxma Reddy, Panchayat Raj Minister Jupally Laxma Reddy and Mahabubnagar Collector Sreedevi. Mr. Rao had arrived at Alampur on Thursday evening and stayed back for the night at the guest house to take the holy dip early on Friday.

Elaborate bundobust arrangements were made for the CMs visit and also the Pushkaralu in general across the state.
