Kathua rape is shameful said the President Ramnath Kovind. He was addressing at a university along with the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Mehbooba Mufti. He condemned the incident and questioned as to what kind of a society we are developing into. Such incidents occurring in part of the country is shameful he said.
After 70 years of Independence if we are facing such incidents it is very shameful he opined. He said that we must ensure that such kind of incidents does not occur on any girl or a woman. CM Mufti also condemned the incident. There is something wrong with the society how can people do such things to a small girl she questioned.
The parents of the 8-year-old girl are demanding death sentence for the accused. The girl was raped sedated and tortured it is reported.
Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi the Chief of the Congress party condemned that there is no law and order in the country and that the Pm Modi was keeping silent on these issues. He wanted the PM to speak out in these cases.
