Prabhu Deva the director and ace dance director was the first choice of mega star Chiranjeevi for his 150th movie Khaidi. Prabhu was the favorite for Chiranjeevi ever since his Bangaru Kodipetta song days. But those days Prabhu was only a dance master.
Now he is a big director in Telugu and Hindi cine fields.
When contacted by Ram Charan for Kahaidi 150, It is reported that Prabhu charged a bomb Chiranjeevis songs as per the latest trends. But the budget proposed by mega family was different and they could not hire Prabhu and then turned to Lawrence who was ready to do with mega star.
It is reported that the so called big guns in the industry don’t pay well. They think working with them and giving opportunity to a technician or any other artists itself is a big thing. 50 percent of the work in the industry goes unpaid it is reported.
Most of the industry uses good talent and new talent and in the name of giving opportunity and taking risk they don’t pay them.
But they make good profits. People who get exploited initially become alert and don’t work for free any more. Most of the top directors or technicians now in the industry tell you that in the starting days they were taken for a ride and in the name of giving opportunity they were exploited.
Rahman who charges crores now, was given Rs 10000 for Roja by Maniratnam.
So it is good that Prabhu did not budge to mega family and did not bother to work for the 150th of Chiranjeevi.
