Operation Ganja in Andhra

Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy today suggested that there should be no Ganja cultivation in the state. He was addressing the collectors here in a conference. Jagan wanted the police to see that the women in the state have all the police protection and that drugs and ganja peddling must be stopped at any cost.

Jagan also advocated for starting a women battalion in the state involving the girijan women for the tribal areas. He told the collectors that Polavaram project should be given top priority and that it should be completed on time, apart from saving funds to the maximum extent.

The Chief Minister also expressed his unhappiness over the call money sex racket in Vijayawada. He suggested that the police must book anyone and it could be from any political party. He was reviewing the law and order here.

How can these things happen in Vijayawada he questioned? There are 800 complaints pending on the call money racket so far. Many TDP leaders and the sympathisers are involved in the racket. Some of the cases were closed earlier due to the pressures from the Ministers of the TDP Government.

Chief Minister also suggested that there should be hoarding for creating awareness on road safety.

Home Minister Sucherita said that patrolling will be increased in the sensitive areas for the protection of women in the state. She said that police recruitment would also be done apart from giving off to the police.

DGP Gowtham Sawang expressed happiness over the weekly off given by the Government. He also thanked the CM for a hike in the allowances to the police.
