Onions cross Rs 100 a Kg

The onion crisis is looming large over the Country. It is costing more than Rs 100 a Kg. The farmers are not making any profit even though the prices are high. It is the middlemen who are making the fast bucks by hoarding of onions.

The floods in many parts of the country have disrupted the crop of Onion. Now Tonnes of Onion is being imported from Egypt it is reported.

The common man’s pocket is burnt due to the high price of the Onions prevailing the market.

Some snack sellers are avoiding the sprinkling of Onion due to high prices. Chidwa at Rs 10 and Mirchi at Rs 20 does not have Onions to taste by the side these days.

There is no Onion dosa in some places. Some of them have increased the price of Onion Dosa by Rs 10 due to the high price of Onions. The poor people do not have the Onion-Tomatoes curry as both Onions and Tomatoes are costing very high.

The crisis might be resolved only after December. It may be noted that Once the Delhi Government was dethroned due to the high rise of Onion Prices.

There is no Onion in some supermarkets. The Governments are planning to sell Onion by Rythu Bazaars at Rs 40 a Kg . The Government plan to sell Rs 25 a Kg did not materialise.
