Senior BJP leader and former Union Minister has made this proposal of Modi Contesting from Hyderabad or Secunderabad. If he contests from Secunderabad it would be a safe seat for the PM. If he opts for Hyderabad he would be taking a risk by challenging the MIM chief Owaisi who has won many a time from the same place.

While 5 states would be going for polls this year, the general elections will be held next year. The BJP is planning for the polls ahead and the state BJP lead by Bandaru Dattatreya has specifically proposed that Modi should contest from Secunderabad. Modi is now representing Varanasi. We do not know if Modi would leave Varanasi or not.

But there is a talk that the BJP leadership has been searching for a safe seat for Modi from South India to give fillip to the campaign and that they are expecting more seats from the South this time as they would get fewer seats from the UP.

The mahagatbandan concept has made a dent into the winning spree of BJP. So the idea is field Modi from South India and depend on the South and shift from North for the required majority and to make up the loss of UP.
