Prime Minister Narendra Modi has decided to continue his trip as scheduled. The PM was informed about the death of Jaitely and Modi tweeted that Jaitley was a giant politician. Modi has talked to Jaitelyes wife Sangeeta and his son this morning.
Jaitely was very close to Modi and that was the reason he was given Rajya Sabha despite losing the election. He was a brilliant lawyer and he managed many cases for the BJP and against the Congress.
He was one of the big lawyers in the supreme court. He could not contest last elections as his health was not cooperating. His immune levels were down.
On the other hand, Home Minister Amitshah and deputy Kishan Reddy who were in Hyderabad this morning have rushed to Delhi to take care of other formalities for Arun Jaitley who died this morning at AIIMS.
It has to be seen If Modi would return to Delhi for the final rites of Jaitley after receiving the award abroad. Minister for defence Rajnath Singh said that Jaitely was an asset to the BJP and also the BJP Government.
Telangana CM KCR paid rich tributes to Jaitely and praised him as a great leader. Rajiv Pratap Rudy said that Jaitely guided him several times in times of crisis. It is a great loss for all of us Rudy said. He was a motivator and a sharp thinker opined Rudy.
Jaitley was LOP in Rajya Sabha. He started the political career as the Union leader of JNU. The last blog Jaitely wrote was on Article 370. Many leaders said that they lost a guiding force. The void is not going to be filled. He was admitted AIIMS on August 9. He was imprisoned for 18 months during an emergency.
BJP and Arun Jaitley Ji had an unbreakable bond. As a fiery student leader, he was at forefront of protecting our democracy during the Emergency. He became a much liked face of our Party, who could articulate the Party programmes and ideology to a wide spectrum of society.

With the demise of Arun Jaitley Ji, I have lost a valued friend, whom I have had the honour of knowing for decades. His insight on issues and nuanced understanding of matters had very few parallels. He lived well, leaving us all with innumerable happy memories. We will miss him!
