Death toll rises to 50 in the deadliest attack

The death toll in the deadliest attack on the CRPF jawans has risen to 50 and some of them are still in the critical condition. A Jaish-E-Mohammed (JEM) terrorist rammed a Scorpio vehicle into the convoy of the CRPF personnel when they were moving ahead.

The Scorpio vehicle was filled with about 400 kg of explosives. There was a lone JEM man in the vehicle with the explosives and he rammed the vehicle into the convoy.

This was the first of its kind and the deadliest attack on the Jawans. Around 78 CRPF vehicles were moving in a convoy. The blast took place on the Srinagar-Jammu highway. The local eyewitnesses said that the CRPF vehicle was strewn into pieces of metal and the bodies of the CRPF personnel were also blown away into pieces.

It was a massive blast where shops and other infrastructure around was damaged and burnt into ashes. TRS MP Kavitha condemned the incident and tweeted for the Jawans.
