The mercy plea in the Nirbhaya case has been rejected by the Judge. The review plea has been rejected and that the judgement of the lower court has been upheld. There is no need for mercy the court opined.

The lawyer has sought two weeks time, but the court opined that there was no need for any mercy. The lower court might issue a death warrant for the rapists.

This step is closer to justice. The supreme court order is final. There may not be any mercy petition for the rapists in the near future. The parents of Nirbhaya were happy with the decision of the Supreme Court.
