As a part of Community policing, today CP Rachakonda has inaugurated 28 CCTV cameras at Radha Krishna Nagar Welfare Association at Malkajgiri. The total cost of the project is around Rs 8,00,000.

The installed cameras will cover all entry and exit points in the area, all main routes of the locality and all crime prone areas. All the cameras would be monitored on a daily basis through teleconference.

Addressing the gathering on the inaugural of the cameras.. Commissioner Of Police, Rachakonda Shri Mahesh Bhagwat, IPS said it was a great initiative where the citizens have taken to tighten the security of the people living in the area. Community CCTV cameras forms an important aspect of policing, it does not enable to detect crimes. Cctvs play a key role in catching the offenders red handedly. And this speeds up the investigation process too. The CCTV cameras helps the police in identifying people participating in the crime, their style committing the offence, which makes investigation even easier, and justice can be delivered fastly.

The series of car burning cases which took place in the year 2016, was also cracked through CCTV cameras in the same colony. As the saying goes, ‘Prevention is better than cure’ and therefore it means proactive policing can prevent any form of crime. Support to all such forms of initiatives will always be there said Mahesh M Bhagwat. All the donors who contributed to fundraising were felicitated.
