Former MP and stylish cricketer from Hyderabad, Mohammed Azharuddin who made India proud several times has taken over as the President of the Hyderabad Cricket Association today. He and his panel has won with a handsome majority and is all set to develop the cricket in the Telangana state.
Now ther are rumours in the political corridors that he is all set to join the TRS. Earlier he tried for the Secunderabad Parliament seat from TRS, but could not get it as the seat was given to the son of Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav.
Then he was forced to continue with the Congress party. Earlier he has won as an MP from the Congress party. The Congress wanted Azhar to contest from Hyderabad seat against Owaisi. But Azhar refused to take on Asaduddin Owaisi as he knows the result.
Now he is all set to join the TRS. The discussion with KTR are almost complete and Azhar might get a plum post it is reported. It may be recalled that Azharuddin was banned for life from cricket for match-fixing.
He also met the Minister for Education Sabitha Indrareddy and discussed the issues.
Azhar is a pucca Hyderabad and has a good following in the Muslim community. Apart from Mahmood Ali there is no one who is big in the TRS from the minority community. Now Shakeel the MLA is also looking at BJP.
In this context Azhar joining the TRS will make all the difference to the TRS and the minorities can come under the roof of Azhar.
