Minister for Finance Harish Rao said that Andhra Bank must continue its services and expand in a big way. It may be noted that earlier the Union Finance Ministry has merged Andhra Bank with the Corporation Bank and in future, it would be losing the identity as the Andhra Bank.

Taking this into consideration people in Andhra Pradesh have objected to this and wanted the identity to remain as the same Andhra Bank. Harish Rao also added that KCR the Chief Minister of Telangana was also keen that Andhra Bank must continue and if needed the Telangana Government would help the Bank.

He said that the rural expansion must take place in a big way so that the farming community and the women will be benefitted in the long run. Harihs Rao today started the Andhra Bank service in Boorgular Ramakrishna Bhavan where the new secretariat services have been located.

Harish said that people are used to the services of the Andhra Bank and that it must continue as the same.

Harish expressed his happiness that the services are being launched by him in the BRK Bhavan. Now that the old Secretariat building are getting ready for demolition, the banks are also operating from the BRK Bhavan.

On the other hand, the offices of the Ministers are now scattered across the city. People cannot just bank on one spot for getting the things. The media has to run from pillar to post for covering the events. The secretariat beat is over.
