The protests for Amaravathi as capital reached the 50-day mark. Farmers were on the roads for the last 50 days along with women and family members.
LOP Chandrababu Naidu who has been spearheading the cause of Amaravathi has challenged the CM to come to Tulluru for a debate. MP Gall Jaydev of the TDP raised the issue in the parliament.
Union Minister of state from Home clarified in the parliament that the TDP Government has notified the Amaravathi as the capital of AP. Chandrababu said that he would continue the agitation and will achieve success.
He said that except for the YSRCP all other political parties with the farming community and they want Amaravaghi has to be continued as the Capital of Andhra Pradesh.
GVL Narsimha Rao the MP from BJP clarified that the right to selection of the capital falls under the category of the state and that the centre has got nothing to do with it.
The farmers have resolved that the agitation would continue until the YSRC withdraws the announcement of the 3 capitals.
