The police have seized 10 tonnes of silver on the roads of Hyderabad in a container . The silver was being transported illegally from Chennai. The value of the silver was assessed at Rs 40 crore. This is one of the big seizures apart from the Gold being seized in Shamshabad Airport on a daily basis. The smuggling of the precious metals is continuing in Hyderabad despite the police making checks and seizures from time to time. Gold is seized on a daily basis at the Shamshabad airport which is illegal smuggled by the passengers from Dubai.
These days Gold is transported in the rectum in the form of a paste.
But for the first time, a huge container filled with silver was seized in Hyderabad. There are reports that it was brought from London to Chennai and routed to Hyderabad. Two persons were already arrested in this connection and further investigation is going on.On the other hand, there are also reports of fake gold in circulation in Hyderabad. Some times 18 carrot Gold is being sold as 24-carat gold which is illegal.
A lot of impure Gold is in circulation in the city in the form of Jewellery. The KDM logo is also fake on the jewellery. One can put the KDM logo on any ornament. There are bogus certifiers who are working to mark the KDM logo on 18 and 22 carats as 24 carats. After buying the jewellery there is no way you can check the authenticity and challenge the seller. That is only for namesake.
