Modi’s constituency is most Polluted

Prime Minister Narendra Modis constituency Varanasi is one of the most polluted areas in the four places that WHO has listed out. Delhi, Kanpur and Gwalior are the other places which are highly polluted in India. These are the times when we are talking about cleansing Ganga, but Varanasi is heavily polluted. The Prime Minister asks his MPs to work in the constituencies and keep them clean and green. But he has no time to take care of Varanasi as of now.

The major sources of air are from particulate matter and pollutants like Sulphate, nitrate and black carbon it is reported. The pollutants also come from households, industry, agriculture, and transport sector and also the coal-fired power plants. Pollution is killing around 7 million people it is found. The other cities with heavy pollution are Faridabad, Gaya, Agra, Patna, Muzaffarpur, Srinagar, Gurgaon, Jaipur, Patiala and Jodhpur.

There is every need for the local governments to look into the issue. Recently Delhi was in trouble due to air pollution and accidents occurred as the drivers were unable to see the road properly. The UN officials suggested that India should follow the method of China in tackling the pollution. The UNs report on pollution is based on the satellite imagery and it has got nothing to do with the data collected by people.
