The central government has declared that the sitting TRS MLA is not an Indian citizen in the first place. Earlier a court has also declared his election as illegal. Ramesh said that he would further appeal this in the highest court.

Vemulawada MLA Chennamaneni Ramesh’s 2009 election was declared void now.

According to court, a person, even Indian, who happens to be a citizen of another country at the moment, doesn’t hold right to contest in elections in the country.

Right from his nomination , Chennamaneni Ramesh was accused of using fake documents to showcase that he is Indian citizen, which happens to be the prime criteria for any person to contest elections in India.
